GreenOurs exists to give people clear, practical advice about growing things and living more sustainably, whether they have a garden or a single windowsill. This page explains how our articles are researched, written and corrected, and how we handle advertising and the products we mention.

Our Mission

We write for people who want a straight answer to a real question: why are the leaf tips brown, how often should I water, which small habit is worth starting. We aim to publish guides that are specific enough to act on and honest about what we don't know. We would rather publish fewer, better articles than chase volume.

How We Research and Write

Each article starts with a reader's problem, not a keyword. We check the main claims against reputable sources such as university extension services, botanical gardens, government and nonprofit guidance, and published product information, and we link to the sources where it helps you check our work. Each article is published under the name of one of our three writers, who are listed below.

Every factual claim should be accurate, or clearly hedged where certainty isn't possible. We don't invent statistics, studies or quotes, and we don't describe personal experiences that didn't happen. Where an answer depends on variables such as light, climate or the plant itself, we say so rather than presenting one number as universal.

Regional Accuracy

Our readers come from all over the world, including many from Southeast Asia. Where it matters we give measurements in both metric and imperial units, and we try not to assume a single temperate-zone growing season applies to everyone.

Updates and Corrections

Growing advice has a lot of "it depends", and guidance changes. We revise articles when we find errors or outdated information, and the "Updated" date on an article shows when it last changed in a meaningful way. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will check it and correct confirmed errors promptly.
